Risk Assessment Generator — Generate Site-Specific Risk Assessments

Generate structured construction risk assessments with AI. UK hazard library, 5×5 risk matrix, CDM 2015 aligned controls. Part of the full RAMS package. Free to start.

How the Risk Assessment Generator Works

A construction risk assessment identifies the hazards present in a work activity, evaluates the likelihood and severity of harm, and sets out the control measures needed to reduce risk to an acceptable level. The RAMS AI risk assessment generator uses a deterministic UK hazard library – not a language model – to identify relevant hazards for your trade, then applies pre-residual risk scoring and CDM 2015 aligned controls.

The 5×5 Risk Matrix

RAMS AI uses the industry-standard 5×5 risk matrix. Pre-control likelihood and severity are scored from 1 to 5. Controls are applied using the hierarchy of controls (eliminate, substitute, engineering controls, administrative controls, PPE). Post-control residual risk is then re-scored to demonstrate that risk has been reduced to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP).

Hierarchy of Controls

  1. Eliminate – Remove the hazard entirely from the work activity
  2. Substitute – Replace a hazardous material or process with a less hazardous one
  3. Engineering controls – Physical barriers, LEV, guarding, edge protection
  4. Administrative controls – Safe systems of work, permits, training, supervision
  5. PPE – Last resort; personal protective equipment for residual risk

Competent Person Review

Under UK health and safety law, risk assessments must be prepared or reviewed by a competent person — someone with sufficient training, experience, and knowledge of the work being assessed. RAMS AI generates a structured, trade-specific starting document. The competent person reviews, adjusts where necessary, and approves before issue.
