SSIP Prequalification — Health and Safety Documents for Contractors
SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) is a forum of UK health and safety prequalification schemes including CHAS, Constructionline Gold, SafeContractor, Acclaim, and Altius. Achieving an SSIP-member scheme qualification demonstrates that your health and safety management arrangements meet a recognised standard — reducing the burden of repeating prequalification for every new client.
How SSIP Works
SSIP member schemes assess contractors against a shared set of core criteria. Once accredited by one SSIP scheme, contractors can seek mutual recognition from other schemes, avoiding repeat assessment. The core criteria cover health and safety management arrangements, risk management capability, worker competence and training, and accident reporting and investigation.
